The Professional Development Workshops is the MMG component that provides information and training to students, artists and professionals in education on how to understand MMG’s “Playing History” curriculum.

MMG provides professional development workshops to provide students, artists, and professionals in education a holistic approach to multicultural music.

Our Playing History curriculum is structured in six major aspects to guide our learners:

  • Research of Historical Events

  • Music Sensory Perception (the connection of senses and emotions)

  • Performance of Original Music

  • Reflection of Music in History

  • Marketing Strategies in the Arts

  • Community Collaboration

MMG’s curriculum seeks to instill respect for cultural differences, promote global understanding, and cultural awareness through the combination of music performance and scholarly research.

Through this effort, we deepen our empathy, sensitivity, and understanding of our communities.
