SU-CASA Residency Program for Older Adults
From April 24th through June 26th, Multicultural Music Group (MMG) implemented Timeless Tunes, a 10-week SU-CASA residency at MMCC-CDC Older Adult Center in Marble Hill. The program, held on Thursdays from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, provided older adults with live music engagement, vocal coaching, rhythmic exploration, and community building through culturally diverse songs.
Teaching artist Elissa Carmona brought over a decade of experience working with older adults and a deep record of artistic and community leadership. A Bronx-based vocalist, Air Force veteran, and recipient of the 2025 SU-CASA, Arts Fund, and Community Arts awards.
MMG’s musical director, Timofei Rosales, a trilingual pianist and educator with a degree in performance from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music, and Percussionist Manny “El Rumbero” Montanez, a Bronx native and founder of Manny’s Boogaloo Crew, contributed their Afro-Caribbean roots and Rumba expertise throughout all sessions. Bassist Rob Roberts joined for the final four sessions, adding harmonic and rhythmic depth to the ensemble.
Timeless Tunes brought vitality, voice, and visibility to the older adults of Marble Hill.
